Growing up in the forests of Southeast Texas, I found my earliest inspiration in nature and the interaction of nature and culture, a fascination that has evolved into a fulfilling career and a constant subject of creative expression. Today, I incorporate that lifelong passion into my art and writing to capture and communicate the fascinating narratives of the natural world. Because I am an educator at heart, my creative endeavors are driven by a dual purpose: to craft pieces that are visually beautiful and artistically inspiring and also to serve as a vehicle for developing an appreciation of nature and our place in it. Through every essay, poem, wooden bowl, or briar pipe, I hope to spark curiosity, share knowledge, and foster a deeper, more enduring appreciation for the environment and the world in which we live.
